We are committed to creating and maintaining good sustainable practises which reduce environmental impact to our activities of each project as outlined below:
Steel is 100% recyclable, and the recycled steel content in a MetStructures is over 40%.
End of life recyclability figures show that a MetStructures project will have less than 1% of steel sent to landfill with 89% recycled and 10% repurposed.
The design life required of a modern building is 60 years The predicted design life of a MetStructures is 200 to 250 years based on a warm-frame environment.
MetStructures Efficient Design and Manufacturing allows us to maximise the volume of materials on each delivery vehicle, reducing the environmental impact of a project.
Through Efficient Design and Manufacturing MetStructures factory produced waste is at negligible levels at less than 0.2% of cold rolled material. All waste material is then recycled.
Site waste is practically eliminated by efficient design, manufacturing, and installation protocols.
The system design allows for an efficient installation with the speed of construction increased by over 30%.
The reduced numbers of personnel required to install a MetStructures enables social distancing, improves site safety and reduces the overall environmental impact on and off-site.
MetStructures LGSF system is compatible and performs in line with standards required for Passivhaus house in terms of air-tightness and thermal insulation dependent on associated products specified.
